63-Year-Old Man Arrested In Honduras For Rape of Minor
Honduras police confirmed yesterday, December 16, 2023, that they arrested a 63-year-old farmer for the aggravated rape of a 17-year-old girl. Police officials from the Transnational Investigation Unit of the DPI of Tegucigalpa found the man after a search of the village of Santa Inés in the municipality of Cedros, Francisco Morazán.
Based on police reports, in June 2023, the 17-year-old girl was alone at home when the 63-year-old farmer, who is the girl’s neighbour, “forcibly entered her house and under threats he sexually abused her, telling her that if she said anything he would hurt her family.”
Authorities said that agents of the Police Investigation Directorate (DPI) were in charge of investigating and collecting technical and scientific evidence and were sending the results of their investigation to the Prosecutor’s Office.
The 63-year-old farmer is expected to face the aggravated rape charge before the Court in due course.
